DECLARING THE MINOR IN LINGUISTICS

Students should consult with the Undergraduate Studies Advisor when declaring the minor, and maintain regular contact during the remainder of their Stanford career. The 2008-09 Undergraduate Studies Advisor is Professor John Rickford (Bldg 460, Room 107), 725-1565, rickford@stanford.edu

Declaring the minor involves:

a) completing The Course Planning Guide for the Minor in Linguistics, which needs to be signed by the Undergraduate Studies Advisor.

b) completing The Major-Minor and Multiple Major Course Approval Form, which must be approved by both the major department and the Undergraduate Studies Advisor.

c) filing the Planning Guide with the Student Services Coordinator

d) arranging with the Student Services Coordinator to have your picture taken for the Bulletin Board.

By their senior year, minors are encouraged to choose a personal adviser from among the linguistics faculty.
