DECLARING THE MAJOR IN LINGUISTICS

Students should consult with the Undergraduate Studies Advisor when declaring the major, and maintain regular contact during the remainder of their Stanford career.

Declaring the major involves:

a) completing The Course Planning Guide for the A. B. in Linguistics, which needs to be signed by the Undergraduate Studies Advisor

b) bringing the freshman file to the Student Services Coordinator

c) arranging with the Student Services Coordinator to have a picture taken for the Bulletin Board

d) declaring the major on Axess

The 2009-10 Undergraduate Studies Advisor is Professor John Rickford:
Bldg. 460, Room 107, (650) 725-1565,

By their senior year, majors are encouraged to choose a personal adviser from among the linguistics faculty.
