Throughout the year as Mentor TA
- During the first week of each quarter, meet with the TAs for that quarter (regardless of year) to discuss potential concerns. Suggestion: group lunch.
- During the 4th week of each quarter, email all TAs for that quarter (regardless of year) to encourage them to use CTL's mid-quarter evaluation services. Also meet with TAs individually if they have any issues related to teaching that they want to discuss.
- At the end of each quarter, ask all TAs for that quarter (regardless of year) if there are any areas of teaching that they would like to improve upon for next time.
- At the end of each quarter, ask all professors who had TAs that quarter to remember to fill out their TA evaluation form (PDF) and submit it to the student services officer.
- EVERY SPRING QUARTER, ask all TAs for that quarter (regardless of year) when and where their sections meet, then strongly encourage all first year students to observe at least one section. Follow up these observations with a meeting with each first year student.
