GRADUATE ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

The deadline to apply to the Stanford Linguistics graduate program for the 2008-09 academic year is Tuesday, December 11, 2007.
The following materials are required components of the admission
application:
- Application form: Completed online through the University Graduate Admissions website
- Application fee: $105
Applicants may pay the fee online using Visa or MasterCard
For instructions to pay by check or money order see the University Graduate Admissions website - Statement of Purpose: Submitted as part of the online application
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE): Official scores from a test taken within the last 5 years must be sent from ETS to Stanford using the Institution Code 4704.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Scores are required of all applicants whose first language is not English. Official scores from a test taken within the last 18 months must be sent from ETS to Stanford using the Institution Code 4704.
- Official Transcripts: Transcripts are required from all prior college level schools attended for at least one year. Two copies of each transcript must be sent directly to the Linguistics department at the address below.
- Letters of Recommendation: Three letters of recommendation are required
- Writing Sample: A writing sample, preferably on a linguistics topic, but otherwise something that displays your writing skills, must be sent directly to the Linguistics department at the address below.
